Nobel International School SDG strategy.
The school can first begin to install a rainwater harvesting system and a solar farm on the rooftop of the school to generate renewable electricity. The roof is big and flat enough to install a solar farm. A community garden can be planted too, which I believe isn't an issue. This can allow us to meet 3 goals, namely:
Goal 6: Clean water and sanitation
Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
Goal 13: Climate Action
So far, Nobel has already achieved the following goals through the initiatives as per follows:
Goal 1: Love on Wheels
Goal 2: Love on Wheels
Goal 3: Founder's Run and Sports Day + PE
Goal 4: Top in Malaysia/Top in the world
Goal 5: Male and female posts in student leadership
Goal 8: Graduates working in jobs
Goal 10: Fungates Superflow Foundation
Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
Goal 17: Partnerships for the goals
The aim is to achieve all 17 sustainable development goals. The target year to achieve everything is the year 2030. Nobel must aim to achieve all 17 goals within the next four years in order to be fully ready by 2030.
Those folks are very slow, you know. They are already very late and 2030 is on the way. Sunway University adopted SDG in 2015. I myself adopted it in 2018 for my gardening and personal activities upon learning of it. But the school can catch up. Many international schools had adopted the SDG principle and I believe that Nobel can catch up too. My sister's school had a SDG fair in 2017. Nobel is planning to hold a Maker's Fair in conjunction with SDG.
Back in 2020, I wanted to put the SDG symbol of Goal 15: Life on Land on the Bullseye banner as mentioned. However, due to Covid 19, we cannot display the banner as Sports Day was cancelled. It would have been a game changer for Nobel and also for Bullseye.
