Improvements to Founder's Run
Founder's Run should be further improved to become a competitive sports event in Nobel International School. It should be a carbon copy version of Sports Day. In fact, it should be as competitive as Sports Day and as grand as Sports Day. The current method is getting boring year upon year. Every year, individuals converge at Taman Botani Shah Alam and run. It should not be the case any longer.
Founder's Run should be the long distance version of Sports Day, since Sports Day is mainly a track-and-field event. The Founder's Run can become its own Sports Day. And I suggest methods to improve it.
The Virtual Founder's Run should span a total of at least six months of running. This can be a lead up to the main Founder's Run. The run can be held in July annually as it will conveniently be located before the IGCSE exams and IGCSE trials. The run can kick off in February and end in July. Aside from that, the points for the Founder's Run can involve a series of judging events, such as the Maker's Fair, which can be incorporated into the Founder's Run for fundraising, and points be awarded for the house raising the most funds.
The physical Founder's Run should not take place at Taman Botani Shah Alam. It should be allowed to take place at a stadium, where the run can be flagged off from a track and then students run around the area near the stadium. The run should be held from 7:00pm onwards to take advantage of the energized crowd. There can be a contingent involving the athletes from the four houses marching into the stadium. The run can consist of a few races, from the normal race to the Ekiden race, which is a relay version of the race. The school can enlist nine athletes. The first eight can run 5km each to make 40km, and the last, 2.195km, to show the true spirit among the students of completing a marathon. We can do something like that to show the best of Nobel and everyone else, to make Founder's Run something which we can be proud off!
