From now until 2028, every single year will be pre-occupied with either a state polls or general election. There will be a break in 2029 before we resume having elections from 2030 to 2033.

The last date of service for the Sabah state assembly is 11^th November. This means that by 7^th December 2025, the state election must be held. The state government is more or less trying to prolong the dissolution and let it dissolve automatically for certainty purposes. This is so that people won't have their schedule interrupted. 

Aside from that, the Melaka state assembly will have its last meeting on 27^th December 2026, with elections to be held by 25^th February 2027; the Sarawak state assembly will dissolve on 11^th February 2027; with an election held no later than 10^th April 2027; the Johor state assembly will be dissolved on 21 April 2027; with an election date set for 20^th June 2027, and for the 16th General Election; the last day of Parliament is 19^th December 2027, with the prospective election date scheduled for 17^th February 2028. 

Most governments will set the election after Hari Raya Aidilfitri to avoid Ramadan and the Aidilfitri celebrations. The dates of Ramadan will be 19^th February 2026, 8^th February 2027 and 28^th January 2028. 

In 2018 and 2013, pressure was set by the Malaysian government to hold elections before Ramadan. The elections were held on 5^th May 2013 and 9^th May 2018.
