Prospects for the 2026 Sports Day.

Prospects for the 2026 Sports Day.

Lau Wei Yiang
For the year 2026, the management will try to arm Homerun with the necessary skills. The main aim of the management is to defeat Bullseye at all costs. Given the victory of Touchdown in 2024, and Slamdunk last February, the management is determined to lengthen the duration of Bullseye's loss. The maximum loss for Bullseye in both situations is 2 years. Those bigwigs in the top management want to extend it to 3 years.

The management will want to cancel off the Founder's Run as a competitive event altogether starting from 2026. They had already scrapped off Nobel Cup back in 2024 and now they are undoing it with the Founder's Run. While the management is studying the prospect of putting back scores for Founder's Run, some die-hard anti-Bullseye activists want to narrow down the amount of Sports Day events. They want to divide the points 50-50: 50% of points come from the judging events and 50% from the athletics events. The management can use the judging events to award  bonus points to other houses so that they can catch up to Bullseye. This  is what they did last year and this year. They are bent on scraping off the Bullseye legacy for good. They know that by narrowing the events for Sports Day, it reduces time and also the chances of a Bullseye victory as any house can win. They have demanded such a situation for 10 years.

The Management will introduce more judging events which they can rig to the advantage of themselves, just so that Bullseye cannot win as they are scared of us. Among the judging events to be introduced are the Notice Board competition, which was last held in 2019, Sports For All and the Telematch competition, last held in 2022. But there is a certain amount of people that are considering putting Nobel Cup back. The only obstacle to them is the die hard anti Bullseye activists who argue that it will cause Bullseye to win again. They might want to introduce a Nobelfest like what it was last time, so that each house can participate in the charity carnival and earn points for highest profit. Aside from that, they will make it compulsory for everyone to participate in Sports Day so that it will be difficult for us to narrow down strategic athletes. They will probably make the Sports Day timeframe shorter than 2025, as the addition of time will only invite people like Lau Wei Yiang to tilt the scores in favor of Bullseye.

The management, even if they bring back Founder's Run and Nobel Cup, will try to increase the difficulty of the event. They will only award points to the winners of the events and not the registration for Founder's Run. They might consider altering the scoring system for the events accordingly. For instance, they can only award 100 points to the winner of Nobel Cup, 80 points to the second placeholder and 20 points to the last, for example, instead of awarding directly from the points in Nobel Cup. Or, they can also try to just award 100 marks for most registrations for Founder's Run and then the top 10 accordingly.

The 2026 Sports Day is difficult and it is important that the House Captain or the Y10 students realize this, failing which we will continue to lose again and again and again, and Bullseye will be dead forever. The management does not want Bullseye to win ever again until all houses have a victory. They will focus on making Homerun the champion house next year. They want a rotation.

No house since  Bullseye has had won 2 consecutive sports days. The management does not want any house holding the trophy forever.

So please be warned. Homerun will win next year and please be warned!

In order to prevent Homerun from winning, Bullseye needs to design a very good banner. But the Management wants Homerun to win the march. Not only because their color blends in with the march, but also, as a Bargaining Chip against Bullseye. The management has tens of thousands of assets. They have so many assets to the point it is difficult for Bullseye to win against all of them.

We had, in 2016 and 2017, matched the capabilities and enthusiasm of Mr Narish. Many Bullseye folks said I am a copycat version of Mr Narish. As long as we can revive all enthusiasm and also upgrade our machinery, we can win the 2026 Sports Day.
