Speech by Ms Joyce to Lau Wei Yiang at the Putrajaya Wetlands Park, at 9:30am, 9th May 2026, during the 2026 Founder's Run.
Who are you?
Wei Yiang ah?
Where is your Founder's Run shirt? Why are you not wearing your Founder's Run shirt?
You didn't register? Why didn't you register? Everyone must register. Okay? You see, everyone is wearing their t-shirt. Why didn't you register?
You are supposed to register, wear the t-shirt, and only you can come here. Okay? We only allow people who have registered to be here. All these people here are wearing Founder's Run t-shirt. Those who have registered can only be here. Since you did not register, you must go to the public area. Okay? Please don't come here. Okay? Go to the public area. The public area is over there. Only those who have registered can come here. Okay? Thank you.

Wei Yiang, I have already said before, and I have already said so many times, if you are not registered, you are not supposed to be here. This place is only for people who have registered. We only allow people who have registered to be here. Alright? Why didn't you register? You are supposed to register, wear the t-shirt, and only then you will be allowed to be here. Ok? I still see you walking around and not wearing your t-shirt and you are also not registered for Founder's Run, and you are still here. I am sorry if I have to be a bit rude this morning, because I need to tell you this. I have seen you coming every year; for almost every school event; you have always been coming; and you always come. I need to tell you a few things and I am asking for your cooperation with us. I need your cooperation, so can you please cooperate? Ok?
Because this is a public place, we cannot control people from entering the park. Alright? This is a public park. This Putrajaya Wetlands; this is a public park. It is for the public to come and enjoy the park. We cannot stop them, neither can we stop you, because you are the public. Ok? We cannot stop people from entering the park. You have the rights as the public to walk anywhere in this park as you wish, as you are a member of the public. This is a public place. Ok? However, we can stop you from coming to our events. Do you understand? You must learn to follow the rules whenever you come for an event. Do I make myself clear?
Today's Founder's Run is a school event. Ok? It is by right an internal event. Ok? It is not open to the public. It is for students and their parents only. In this case, we only allow people who are registered to come for Founder's Run, because this is a school event and it involves students. Outsiders, we don't allow, including ex students, because this is a school event. Alright? This event is for students only. By right, ex students are considered outsiders already. You are an ex student. If you are an ex student, before joining any school events, you are supposed to write in to the school and ask for permission before coming for the events. Ok?
Founder's Run is a school event. Every ex student must seek for permission before joining the events. Same goes for outsiders. There are many events organized by the school; some you can go, some you cannot go. Whatever event you can go, you go. Whatever you are not allowed to go, you cannot go, because there are some events which are not open to ex students. Any school event, especially when it involves outsiders, you need to write a letter to us, and the school will need to approve. You cannot simply walk in or come in just like that. You need to ask for permission. You are by right considered an outsider already. Anyone who is an outsider must let the school know before coming for the events. And once the school approves and you can join, you must follow the rules.
In the case of today's Founder's Run, you need to register, because you are an outsider. To be frank, I have to tell you, even parents also have to register, because they are also considered outsiders. For this run, we are specifically inviting parents and ex students to run because we are raising funds for Fungates Superflow Foundation. Ok? We want to know who is coming, especially outsiders. Alright? Parents are also considered as outsiders, so they also must register. You must register for the run, wear the t-shirt, and then only you can join. You cannot just come in like that. Ok? You need to follow the rules. Everyone who is joining the run needs to register. Otherwise, we won't know who is coming. You need to let us know if you are coming because we need to take care of the students' safety. Alright? The students don't know you; you don't know them, especially if you are a stranger to them. There are a lot of students and outsiders here today. We need to take care of their safety especially when there are a lot of strangers around us. We don't want anything to happen to the students. So this is very important. Alright? So, please register. And another thing. Please do not bring those flags ever again. I do not want to see those flags anymore. Do I make myself clear? Next time, when you are coming for Sports Day or any other event, I don't want to see you bringing those flags again. Do you understand? Also, I don't want to see you always coming to our Sports Day or any other school event just like that. Am I clear?
One more thing, past is past, move on with life. Don't spend time in the past. You are not a student anymore. Alright? Please leave now. We are going to end soon. Okay? Bye.
