Parliamentarians continued.
Last time, we talked about Tan Sri Chee Fooi Foon, and Tan Sri Lau Wei Yiang, and Tun Chan. I'd like to introduce the current Nobellians to YB Datuk Seri Ashwin Jeyabalan, the member of Parliament for Petaling Jaya.
YB DATUK SERI ASHWIN JEYABALAN, MP FOR PETALING JAYA, 2027-2032
Ashwin Jeyabalan was elected as member of Parliament for Petaling Jaya for a term from 2027 to 2032. He was the assistant House Captain of Bullseye. During his tenure as MP for Petaling Jaya, YB Ashwin has managed to use his funds to upgrade the Petaling Jaya Stadium. He had also designed a smart CCTV system implemented courtesy of the Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya, which effectively eliminated all crime across Petaling Jaya. YB Ashwin had also successfully established a Petaling Jaya Dog Council to work with MBPJ to ensure proper handling of stray dogs and also initiated a Petaling Jaya Animal Farm to save stray dogs.
YB Ashwin is very famous for implementing a protest blockade in Petaling Jaya that successfully resulted in the cancellation of three expressways in the city. He is also instrumental in organizing townhall meetings and also championing strict amendments to the Animal Welfare Act 2015 which held city councils liable for animal incidents.
YB DR SABRINA QISTINA, MP FOR DAMANSARA
YB Sabrina was the 2016 House Captain of Bullseye and head prefect of Nobel International School. She was formerly a research assistant at the University of British Columbia.
YB Sabrina was instrumental in passing the Climate Change Bill on 13th July 2030. The bill consisted of areas ranging from flood control to rubbish collection and upcycling. YB Sabrina is also a member of the Greenpeace Malaysia Council.
Under YB Sabrina's tenure as Member of Parliament for Damansara, YB Sabrina was able to negotiate a settlement to the traffic problems at Nobel International School. YB Sabrina was also instrumental in turning decommissioned highway infrastructure into Malaysia's National Marathon Training Center. YB Sabrina is also a champion of women's rights in Malaysia and spearheaded the creation of the Majlis Bandaraya Damansara, splitting the township from Petaling Jaya.
TAN SRI DR LAU WEI YIANG, MP FOR SUBANG AND 15TH PRIME MINISTER OF MALAYSIA
Tan Sri Lau Wei Yiang is the current member of Parliament for Subang and the 15th Prime Minister of Malaysia. He holds this position as the first Malaysian Chinese prime minister and the second Chinese to hold a prime minister's post after Tan Sri Ling Liong Sik, who acted as Actig Prime Minister in 1987. First elected in the 2034 General Election as MP for Subang, Tan Sri Lau has focused his policy on an environmental friendly approach. Under his tenure as Prime Minister since 2040, Tan Sri Lau was instrumental in cancelling highway projects through the Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve. He has also successfully implemented a Malay Economic Community centered in Kota Baru, Kelantan. Tan Sri Lau is currently prioritizing the construction of the Labuan Bridge between Labuan and Sabah, set to open next year in March 2048, and increased the density of transport networks in Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam, Penang, Alor Setar and Johor Bahru.
While these stories are fictional, who knows one day it will be real! Maybe Mr Chan should become a politician, who knows!
