Bullseye sabotage plots

Bullseye sabotage plots

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Bullseye sabotage plots are a series of actions taken by the Management team of Nobel International School to prevent the victory of Bullseye in the sports events held by Nobel International School.

Since 2014, Bullseye has been engaged in multiple Sports Day, Founder's Run and Nobel Cup victories. Following the victory of Bullseye in the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Sports Days and also the 2014 and 2015 Nobel Cups, the management team of Nobel International School had engaged in surpressing the victories of Bullseye using a series of methods which appear unobvious to the students of Nobel International School and the members of Bullseye. The actions taken by the management team against Bullseye were criticized by many of the Bullseye members, former teachers and other alumni who had knowledge of the matter.

Background

Nobel International School was founded in 2004 as Sekolah Sri Nobel. The school offered the national curriculum as the main syllabus for teaching and learning. The school contained four houses each named after their colors; red, blue, green and yellow.

In April 2011, Sekolah Sri Nobel announced a rebranding into Nobel International School, which took place in January 2012. As part of the rebranding exercise, the four houses were renamed Bullseye, Touchdown, Homerun and Slamdunk, and all existing students were reshuffled into these different houses as part of the exercise. The Elementary School first adopted the names on 29th April 2012, while the Junior and Senior School adopted these changes on 21st February 2013.

Since the year 2013, Bullseye members had longed for the chance to win a Sports Day and the Nobel Cup, and this came true in 2014. Following the victory of 2014's Sports Day and Nobel Cup, the Bullseye members continued to devise plans and strategies to make Bullseye the winner of future Sports Days and Nobel Cups. These consistent and continuous wins caused frustration and discontent among the other sports houses and the management team of Nobel International School.

The wins initially begun with both Nobel Cup and Sports Day, but soon spread to include the Founder's Run. With so many long victory streaks of Bullseye, these begun causing complaints from the senior management team of Nobel International School.

Operation Speedrunner

In September 2014, Lau Wei Yiang and Caleb Chuang, two Bullseye members from Year 8 at the time, hatched a plan to ensure the victory of Bullseye. According to Wei Yiang, the victory of Bullseye in the 2014 Nobel Cup will need to be achieved because it would make Bullseye famous for winning two events; the 2014 Sports Day and 2014 Nobel Cup, something which no house had done before at the time, and something considered unprecedented in its day. The plans involved Wei Yiang and Caleb Chuang devising plans for the Bullseye victories. The plans were consulted with every single house member and presented to the captains. Because the plans gained so much support, Bullseye managed to win almost every year and almost every event. All in all, Bullseye managed to win three Sports Days and two Nobel Cups from April 2014 to March 2016.

Each year would carry different meaning and would need to be replaced time after time or upgraded to prevent the plans from being duplicated by other houses and to ensure that new plans can incapacitate the old plans.  The plans constantly draw excitement from Bullseye members and envy from other houses, and the plans were constantly hidden.

Key individuals

Composition of management team

Nobel International School's Management Team consisted of the Principal, the Deputy Principal and the heads of various departments, such as the Academic Affairs, Examinations, Head of Learning Support, Student Affairs, Psychological Support, Sports and Recreation, Co Curricular Activities and also Social Wellbeing. All teachers in Nobel report to the head of the various subjects; English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Malay and Mandarin, who in turn report to the Head of Academic Affairs. This is duplicated into two management teams; one for the Junior and Senior School, and another for the Elementary School.

Both management teams report to the Senior Management Team, which consist of Founding Director Ms Clarine Chun, Senior Management Advisor Mr Chan Lik Hoong, and the school's Executive Director Mr Tan Seng Kee. Ms Clarine Chun is also the founder of Nobel International School, while Mr Tan Seng Kee serves as a part time board member. Mr Chan Lik Hoong formerly served as principal of the Junior and Senior School from 2006 to 2009 before being elevated to the post of Senior Management Advisor. Mr Chan used to work at government schools as a Chemistry, Science and Mathematics teacher before joining Nobel. Mr Chan is also said to control most of the management affairs as given in a testamony by Mr Thomas.

Composition of Bullseye National Committee

The Bullseye National Committee is headed by the House Captain of Bullseye and its Assistant House Captain. Both captains head a committee containing the captains and their assistants of every activity, namely the Marchpast, Dance, Banner, Athletics, Telematch, Cheer and various other posts. The committee is advised by a Teacher Advisor to Bullseye. The committee consists mainly of Year 11 students who hold the post.

Aside from the Bullseye members, a small notable team of Bullseye members, led notably by Lau Wei Yiang and Caleb Chuang, constantly devise plans that contribute to the victory of Bullseye. According to Wei Yiang, the main reason for a Bullseye victory streak is for Bullseye to become prominent and famous. Critics against this policy attribute the lack of growth, the desire for greediness and a lopsided championship as the obstacles to a fair Sports Day. Bullseye members against this policy argue the lack of sportsmanship which goes against the institute of Sports Day.

Modus operandi

Nobel's management team currently has the powers and privilages to do anything as they wish, including imposing policies and rules, such as those preventing the victory of Bullseye. Most parents and guardians sign an agreement with the school when enrolling their child which enables the management's sole powers to clamp down on Bullseye.

The management bills any attempt by the management themselves to prevent Bullseye's victory as an opportunity to "give chance to other houses" to win the Sports Day and other associated events in Nobel International School, namely the Founder's Run and the Nobel Cup. Methods used by the management can range from a variety of known and unknown actions, such as changing the date of Sports Day, the format and rules of Sports Day, the score composition, or even by adding or disabling skilled athletes from each of the four houses. Terms and conditions can be modified, and actions done obviously in broad daylight without realization from the students.

In April 2025, a report published detailed that every single Sports Day since 2017 had involved attempted interferance by the management team. The Sports Days suspected of interferance include all the years which Bullseye won. The report described that Bullseye's victories came out of luck and that the management had attempted to "clamp down, surpress and deny Bullseye the champion house following the Bullseye victories of 2014, 2015 and 2016". The report also advised future house captains of Bullseye to pay attention to any management matters and also school announcements as they might contain hidden "easter eggs" designed to thwart Bullseye's victory.

Control of management team

The Management Team of Nobel International School is said to be heavily controlled by Mr Chan Lik Hoong due to his influence in administering government schools. Mr Chan Lik Hoong joined Nobel in 2004 and served as Principal of the Junior and Senior School from 2006 until 2010; in 2011, he was promoted to the post of Management Advisor. Mr Chan used to teach Biology and Chemistry in government secondary schools from 1976 until 2004. He is a founding staff member of Nobel International School, alongside Ms Clarine Chun, Mr Tan Seng Kee, Mr Chuang Peck Guan, Ms Michelle Loh Kim Hui and Ms Melinda Tan.

Although Mr Chan himself is the Senior Management Advisor, he makes most of the decisions due to his daily presence in school affairs. According to Mr Thomas, Mr Chan Lik Hoong earns at least RM 20,000 a month from all his activities.

Mr Chan was said to have had formulated the academic and school calendar system, as he had involved administration in planning. Almost all affairs of the school involving teachers and students would need to be approved by Mr Chan Lik Hoong himself. At the same time, Mr Chan Lik Hoong himself also approved and controlled many financial affairs of the school and is said by Mr Thomas to have had indulged himself in many expensive meals at seven star hotels in the Klang Valley and earned a lot of profit from the school.

While Mr Chan Lik Hoong consistently advocates neutrality, recent reports and also interviews by Mr Thomas indicate that Mr Chan is suspected to have led the charge against Bullseye due to his intent to ensure Sports Day is not dominated by one house and instead shared by other houses. Reports indicate that he had oversaw the planning and execution of school events on the school calendar, and was decisive in formulating dates for school events.

Ms Lim Mee Wee's control against students

Prior to 2022, the school was heavily administered by Ms Lim Mee Wee who mainly had a hand in managing the Student Affairs Department. Ms Lim obtained her Bachelor's Degree in 2000 from the Malaysia University of Science and Technology. She joined Nobel in 2006 and served in the Upper Primary of the Elementary School as a Mathematics teacher before joining the Junior and Senior School in 2011. Ms Lim is well known for her hardline approach among all the management members. She was responsible for drafting most of the rules in Nobel International School, such as the Student Code of Conduct, and was responsible for disciplining most students in Nobel International School. She would normally rule with a stern approach to all student activities.

Ms Lim Mee Wee advocates for a policy during her tenure in Nobel in which alumni are restricted and prohibited from school events in order to "give chance to the juniors", after alumni had proposed inclusion by Ms Lim in the school events. Since 2018, this had been applied on a larger scale for the Sports Day. Ms Lim offers a hand into the Sports Day organization process and is consistently advising on the aspects of Sports Day between 2013 and 2020. Ms Lim had won every match against every alumni on influencing students or participating in the events but lost to one.

Ms Lim is currently the principal of Beaconhouse Sri Lethia Private National School in Klang.

Cambridge precedent

Cambridge Assessment International Education follows a policy of increasing and decreasing the difficulty of the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations following the performance of students in each examination sitting in order to maintain the standard of examinations. The Cambridge examiners also decide the grade boundaries based on academic performance in the examination sitting unlike normal exams where grade boundaries are drawn before an examinations.

Ms Yew Foong Ching, the Head of Nobel's Exam Logistics Department, consistently manages affairs for Cambridge up until 2021, working alongside Ms Praveen Shaadan, the Head of Curriculum. Both have expertise in Cambridge curriculum and examinations and were alleged to have had been roped in by Mr Chan Lik Hoong and Mr Narish Tamilarasan for the planning and execution of Sports Day standards. Similar practices are currently being done by the current management team and examinations unit.

Interferance in the 2017 Sports Day results

News of the management's intention to deny Bullseye of a Sports Day victory were first broken by Sean Mark, the 2017 Bullseye House Captain, following the conclusion of Sports Day 2017 on 31st March 2017. Sean Mark informed the Bullseye members in a WhatsApp message that Ivyna Ong, the Dance Captain of Bullseye, had been informed by Mr Narish Tamilarasan, the coordinator of Sports Day 2017, that the judges had decided to "give other houses a chance" during the dance competition. Prior to 2017, Bullseye had won the Dance Competition in the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Sports Day.

The score of Sports Day 2017 saw Bullseye lose to Touchdown by one point, 648-649. In the dance competition, Bullseye was placed last in the event. It was theorized that Ms Lim Mee Wee, the Deputy Principal and Head of Student Affairs at the time, was unhappy with the result of the dance competition in which Bullseye was placed first, and intervened in the results to ensure that Slamdunk, the second place winner, was elevated. Due to Slamdunk winning the dance competition, this also consequently resulted in Touchdown winning the Sports Day. Prior to the Sports Day, Ms Lim, in a testamony, said that many parents had complained about the result of the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Sports Day, including that of the Nobel Cups, and decided that a change was needed. The change was reportedly being done alongside Ms Bee Yong, Ms Praveen and Ms Sophia Sim who discussed and advised Mr Narish Tamilarasan to draw up plans for Sports Day 2017 to increase the difficulty of Sports Day. Leaked WhatsApp conversations between Ivyna Ong and Mr Narish confirm that the management had consistently brought up the Bullseye victories in November and December 2016 and had advocated for a chance to give other houses a chance. Further messages from Ms Bee Yong confirm that the Sports Day "should not be conquered by Bullseye".

In April 2017, in an interview with the school newsletter, Sean Mark said that the 4X100m team of Bullseye consisting of Dylan S. Gill, Sean Mark, Ethan Chan and Aaron Yong were disqualified on the Sports Day. No reason was given for the disqualification. As Bullseye's 4X100m runners had won their various events on Sports Day itself in the individual classes, it was clear that the relay team's victory would see them contribute 10 points to Bullseye, edging them well ahead of the 648-649 loss. The intended disqualification without any due reasoning increased speculation that the management were plotting against Bullseye. The combination of Nobel Cup and Sports Day's scores, as well as the changing of the tournament format of Nobel Cup 2016 to benefit the other houses, further resulted in complaints from all house captains that the intention to include the Nobel Cup scores were unfair; a tournament won by Touchdown after two years of Bullseye victory. Further investigations revealed that the management had pressed Mr Neoh Yeow Wen and Mr Narish Tamilarasan to change the tournament format of Nobel Cup prior to the staging of the event, and merge it with the Sports Day upon finding out that Touchdown is the winner. The management had planned various scenarios as to whether Bullseye would win; there would be no plans to merge the tournaments together had Bullseye won. Leaked messages show Ms Bee Yong and Ms Lim advocating for merger of Sports Day and Nobel Cup.

In August 2021, investigations by alumni graduating from 2018 to 2020 found the management liable for the loss of Bullseye and that there were dubious attempts to stop the victory of Bullseye. WhatsApp messages between the management members between August 2016 and October 2016 reveal a slurry of texts showing that "a generation would soon grow up to want to make Bullseye win, and this will not be fair to others". Management meeting minutes show that Ms Bee Yong pressed the management to ensure that Bullseye is "kept under control".

Prior to the 2016 Nobel Cup and 2017 Sports Day, the management members chose the candidates of each house in consultation with the Year 10 Level Leader, Ms Renee Mathews, and not allow individual nominations, causing growing suspicion on the part of the management in having a hand at the leadership of Bullseye.

2018 declaration of Management Team's support for Touchdown

2017 Nobel Cup

Following the loss of Bullseye in the 2016 Nobel Cup and the 2017 Sports Day, plans regarding 2018 were revisited. Originally, the plan, should Bullseye win the 2016 Nobel Cup and 2017 Sports Day, was to hand down the strategies of Bullseye drafted by Wei Yiang and Caleb to potential successors. This plan was partially tweaked when Bullseye lost the 2016 Nobel Cup. As time passed and Bullseye was found to have lost these tournaments, plans for "replacement tournaments" begun. The 2017 Nobel Cup was to be a replacement for the 2016 Nobel Cup; and the 2018 Sports Day a replacement for 2017; should Bullseye win these tournaments. Bullseye members subsequently planned for a 2017 victory in the Nobel Cup while Wei Yiang and Caleb stayed behind despite the IGCSE exams to help the students. Bullseye eventually emerged as the winner of the 2017 Nobel Cup, owing to great relief from Bullseye members.

Seeing the results for 2017's Nobel Cup being a success, Wei Yiang begun planning for the 2018 Sports Day despite him not being a student of Nobel any more. Ms Lim Mee Wee, had, in years since 2015, imposed an embargo on alumni participation, saying that alumni would not be allowed to participate in the sports activities or any school events if they return, in order to give a fair chance to the other younger juniors. At the same time, some teachers had been calling for their seniors or alumni to return to Nobel following their graduation as they "miss them". Wei Yiang hoped to solve the problem of kinship while also proving Ms Lim wrong that alumni cannot influence Nobel events.

Prior to 2015, Year 11 students can still participate in school activities even as they were sitting for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examination. However, starting from 2015, Year 11 students were only allowed until July 2015 to participate in any activity as they wish in order to ensure that the IGCSE examination season, which consist of trial exams in August and the actual exam in October and November to not be disrupted.

2018 Sports Day and Founder's Run

In January 2018, the Management instituted a new alumni visitation policy for returning alumni who were visiting the school. Under the guidelines, alumni visiting Nobel would need to receive approval from Ms Lim Mee Wee before visiting. This policy has since been tightened as of 2023, in which both visitors and alumni would need to make prior appointments. The rules appear to be aimed at Wei Yiang, who begun visiting Nobel following his graduation. Recent reports from discussions in the management meetings target Wei Yiang as an individual who can influence the students of Bullseye with the plans and communications. A WhatsApp by Ms Bee Yong in the Nobel Management Team's WhatsApp group uncovered by VPN confirm the following text:

"Clearly it is shown that if we don't have a strict visitation policy, people like Wei Yiang can come anytime as they please. This might also result in people taking advantage of the situation to threaten the safety of our students and also, Wei Yiang has already motivated people from Bullseye, and soon, Bullseye will be able to win again, who knows!

Since Wei Yiang graduated from Nobel in 2017, the additional rules for alumni had made it harder, as alumni are now considered as outsiders. This meant that they are subject to strict security policies. This scenario increases the possibility that younger students might perceive Wei Yiang or other older alumni as total strangers, and the chance of management action. Prior to 2018, alumni can enter the school at any time and under any circumstance as they please, and all that was needed was to register at the school's security post and obtain a visitor's pass. The change in policy was further reinforced as a tool to surpress Bullseye when Wei Yiang was further discouraged from coming to Nobel, which coincided when Bullseye was leading in the 2018 standings, as opposed to other alumni who were allowed in without issue. Critics lambasted the management's actions as surpressive to the Bullseye efforts, given that Wei Yiang delayed his intake for his college entry to March 2018 instead of January 2018, to ensure that the Sports Day preparations were made without issue.

During the Founder's Run, Bullseye managed to win the tournament and claim the championship for the Founder's Run champion house for the first time in its history, marking the first change of the house championship in the Founder's Run. Alongside the Nobel Cup, this resulted in Bullseye gaining these two events from Touchdown. This change further irked the management, who were determined to stop Wei Yiang and also Bullseye. Seeing no hope for further success, Ms Bee Yong subsequently endorsed Touchdown, causing the 2018 Sports Day loss. This was further comprehended by Wei Yiang being prohibited from hanging his banner on Sports Day as well as the management complaining of his presence at the school gates on the telematch day.

In May 2018, it was discovered that a number of students were discouraged from mingling with Wei Yiang in order to prevent the victory of Bullseye in the 2018 Sports Day, and that the Management had also forbade students exiting the school compound which was cited as "safety reasons" despite the enforcement of the policy being slim and that other alumni were not as frequently targeted as Wei Yiang.

Failed attempt to foil the 2019 victory

2018 Nobel Cup

The management, consisting of Ms Bee Yong and Mr Chan Lik Hoong, arrived at the iM4U Sentral in Puchong where Nobel Cup was being held on 13th November 2018 to check on things. By that time, Wei Yiang had fled the venue as he was heading back to college.

On 16th November 2018, Homerun was originally announced as the champion house of Nobel Cup until the management revealed that there was an error in the calculations of the badminton tournament for Nobel Cup.

2019 Sports Day and Founder's Run

The 2019 Sports Day preparations begun with the first Bullseye National Convention on 14th January 2019. During the convention, Wei Yiang managed to meet the Bullseye members and present predictions to them. The predictions convinced the Bullseye members to win the Founder's Run, ace the athletics events and win the Sports Day. While the management members used similar tactics as what was used in 2018 and 2017, the large lead of Bullseye checkmated the management, resulting in Bullseye's first Sports Day victory since 2016. A disgruntled Ms Lim was caught on camera showing a horrified look on her final Sports Day in Nobel; Ms Lim ultimately left Nobel in November 2021.

The 2019 Bullseye Sports Day victory was designated the Nobel International School version of the 2018 Malaysian general election. Following the Sports Day, it was also revealed that the management, in their WhatsApp group, expressed surprise at an "unprecedented effort by an ex student. No wonder he always keeps coming back to Nobel."

2020 - 2023 manouvres

2019 Nobel Cup

The successful conquest of Bullseye during the 2019 Sports Day intensified efforts for a preparation of a second conquest in the 2019 Nobel Cup. By this time, the Bullseye members were quite exhausted as preparations begun for this Nobel Cup, which contributes to the 2020 Sports Day scores.

The management team, knowing Wei Yiang frequents iM4U Sentral, moved most Nobel Cup games away. Bullseye managed to win those games at iM4U Sentral while losing the rest, causing Bullseye to be tied with Touchdown, and Slamdunk winning the Nobel Cup, resulting in the first time every house managed to win the Nobel Cup.

The management knew that if the Nobel Cup events were consolidated at iM4U Sentral, this might spark uproar among the Bullseye members due to Wei Yiang's influence and plans, which can alter the results. The last thing they wanted was a triple back to back victory of Bullseye in the Nobel Cup. This marks the second time since 2016 that such a plan was foiled. Prior to the Nobel Cup, Mr Narish and Mr Nigel had been approached by Ms Bee Yong and Ms Lim to change the venues of Nobel Cup. The change was made on 1st November 2019. Originally, the plan was to host all sports at iM4U Sentral but was advised for shifting at the last minute by Ms Bee Yong.

2020 Founder's Run and cancellation of Sports Day 2020

Preparations for Sports Day 2020 involved the preparation for Founder's Run 2020, as well as the associated events. However, due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in Wuhan, China, many of the Sports Day 2020 events were either scaled back or cancelled. As of August 2022, it was discovered that the management had attempted to use COVID-19 as a bargaining chip to prevent the victory of Bullseye in Sports Day 2020.

As the COVID-19 outbreak begun to spread across the world, the Parent's Race for Founder's Run 2020, which Wei Yiang was supposed to participate, was cancelled. Critics lashed out at the management for using COVID-19 as an excuse to influence the scores for Sports Day and Founder's Run as the students would still mix with outsiders jogging in the park. Subsequently, this would also prevent exchange of information between Wei Yiang and the Bullseye members. The management intended to ensure that the parents do not infect the students, thus making the Founder's Run an internal event. In the proposed standard operating procedures for Founder's Run, students would be subjected to temperature inspections prior to the start of the race and following the conclusion of the run. Subsequently, similar rules were planned for Sports Day 2020, thus barring any display of Wei Yiang's Sports Day banner and also cheering for Bullseye.

To circumvent this, Wei Yiang visited Nobel every single day from January to March 2020 to motivate the Bullseye members and discussed the plans with them. However, this brought the ire and invoked the ire of Ms Lim and Ms Bee Yong. Nevertheless, the plans succeeded in Bullseye winning the Founder's Run.

In 2023, Mr Thomas unveiled a testamony between him and Mr Chan Lik Hoong. According to Mr Thomas, Mr Chan was alleged to have had voiced his displeasure of the Bullseye victories following the 2020 Founder's Run. Mr Thomas described Mr Chan as being opposed to any future Bullseye victory, and he had discussed this with Mr Thomas prior to the teachers' morning meeting prior to the morning assembly on 21st February 2020 in the management office. Further discussions between Mr Thomas and Mr Chan reveal that Mr Chan had mentioned that Bullseye had already won many Sports Days and Nobel Cups and that "an ex student had made the situation worse". He was reported to have had said, "then Bullseye will win again. How will other houses have their moment? We don't want Bullseye to always keep winning."

2022 Nobel Cup and associated events

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2020 - 2021 Malaysian movement control order (MCO), sports activities in Nobel had been cancelled, thus making the 2022 Founder's Run the first post-MCO event, alongside the 2022 Nobel Cup.

In 2022, following the reopening of the school, the management had planned for activities for the 2022 school year. Given that the 2020 and 2021 school years were fully online or in part, hybrid and online, graduating Year 11 students in those two years did not have experience in sports activities prior to their graduation, as Sports Day is considered the highlight of one's final year in Nobel. Thus, for 2022, the management had planned for sports activities to be held to avoid the Class of 2022 to be deprived of such opportunity.

Planning for school activities had occurred since the start of the movement control order (MCO) in the event of a decrease in COVID-19 cases in Malaysia. The management had planned to hold the 2020 Nobel Cup, 2021 Nobel Cup and also Athletics Day 2021 in the years 2020 and 2021. However, due to exponential increase and out-of-control COVID-19 outbreaks, such activities were prohibited by COVID-19 restrictions and thus were unable to take place. As the Malaysian government had committed to a no-lockdown policy by 2022, the Management saw this as an opportunity to not deprive the Year 11 students of any fun and joy of sports events. Upon the removal of various restrictions in May 2022, the management begun the process of the sports activities, although they ruled out a potential Sports Day.

The 2022 Founder's Run was launched on 25th March 2022 and consisted of the first students' led committee. However, this Founder's Run in particular involved points based on registration for the virtual run. The management intended for this to thwart a Bullseye victory, but accidentally ended up creating it, thus boosting the rationale and morale of the Bullseye members.

The 2022 Nobel Cup was broken up into two editions; one in July for Year 10 and 11 students and another one in November for students from Year 7 to 10. The intent of the management for the July edition was for the Year 11 students to have some fun and enjoy some sports activities before they leave Nobel after completing their IGCSE exams. Critics opined that the Management was giving Bullseye little time to prepare, because the sudden split in the Nobel Cup events had resulted in an opportunity for other houses to potentially win over Bullseye. The July edition was won by Homerun, and Bullseye came in third.

During the 2022 Nobel Cup on 22nd November, Wei Yiang was escorted out of the venue and told not to stay for too long. The decision of the management was criticized for being afraid of Bullseye. Nevertheless, Bullseye emerged as champion house of both Nobel Cup's scores combined, and the winner overall for the year 2022. It also marks the first time since 2015 that a Nobel Cup and overall score was won in the same year, and for the first time, this feat includes the Founder's Run as a clean sweep of sports events; the 2014 and 2015 sweep of competitions only involved Sports Day and Nobel Cup at the time.

2023 Sports Day and associated events

In 2023, Nobel International School moved to a new campus at Damansara Jaya. Observers were widely expecting a combination of the 2022 Nobel Cup scores to the 2023 Sports Day. However, the school begun the event with a telematch instead, which was won by Touchdown. Bullseye was instead placed third between Homerun and Slamdunk.

Initially, it appeared that the management was about to checkmate Bullseye, since the other dates for Sports Day, which was to occur on 23rd June 2023, and the 2023 Founder's Run, which was scheduled for 1st July 2023. However, due to the 2023 Asian heatwave, both events were rescheduled, with the Founder's Run taking place on 22nd July and the Sports Day on 20th November. The rescheduling of the events resulted in the management team tweaking the format of Founder's Run, which involves contributions of one point per kilometer in a revived virtual run. However, Wei Yiang, since December 2022, had planned a strategy which involved Bullseye members training for the run virtually and requested everyone to follow the strategy, which involved clocking steps everyday. This resulted in Bullseye being declared champion of the Founder's Run and subsequently, a revived Nobel Cup and also Sports Day, although Slamdunk had the most registrations for the run.

The decision to hold the 2023 Founder's Run on a Saturday drew criticism for its intended motive, since previous editions of the Founder's Run took place during school hours. The management had affirmed that the decision to hold the run on a weekend would invite more parents to join the run. It would also entice students of Nobel's A Level program and also alumni to participate in the run and continue the tradition of Nobel's charity initiatives. However, critics allege the intended motive was to prevent Bullseye from winning the Founder's Run, given that Bullseye had been winning every Founder's Run since 2018. Critics also initially lashed out at the decision to separate Founder's Run and Sports Day, warning that this will affect Bullseye if Sports Day was held by the original date of 23rd June with Touchdown in the lead.

The victory of Bullseye in the 2023 Sports Day resulted in the attainment of the five year victory streak, besting the original target of four consecutive victory years set in 2014 and originally set to be achieved in 2017. It also resulted in the first paired Nobel Cup victory since 2014/2015, and the first back to back clean sweep of events, also last having been achieved in 2014/2015, making it the fourth time a sports house won every single event in Nobel International School; all the feats were achieved by Bullseye.

20th Anniversary Sports Day

Main article: 2024 Sports Day (20th Anniversary Sports Day)

After Bullseye's 2023 Sports Day victory, Bullseye members begun planning for the grandest celebration of all; the 20th Anniversary Sports Day. The 20th Anniversary Sports Day was billed as such as this Sports Day celebrates the 20th Anniversary of Nobel International School. This Sports Day also adds a twist to the situation as it marks ten years since the first ever Bullseye victory in 2014, during the 2014 Sports Day, then billed as the '10th Annual Sports Day'.

To the Bullseye members, the 20th Anniversary Sports Day marks a very important time for Bullseye as the Sports Day itself not only commemorates both Nobel and Bullseye, but also celebrates the start of an unforgettable victory streak. Aside from 2017 and 2018, every single year is won by Bullseye. Hence, it calls for a grand celebration to celebrate every single Bullseye member who had ever been in Bullseye as every single Bullseye member had contributed to the victory of Bullseye. With Bullseye winning so many Sports Days, a victory in 2024 would be the final setting for every single moment for Bullseye and a grand tribute to every Bullseye member that was. Dozens of requests for such a celebration were made by all the alumni and current students at the time to celebrate the best of Bullseye and it was meant to be a period of redemption for what Bullseye is.

However, the management, by this time, had grown outraged having awarded tournaments from 2019 to 2023 to Bullseye. The mass victories of Bullseye for all tournaments had crossed the management's head, given that all of these were orchestrated by one ex student. The management knew that if nothing was done, more Bullseye members would soon start enthusiastically training, running, performing and winning every single Sports Day up into the distant future. Hence, something had to be drastically attempted to put an end to the multiple victories of old.

In July 2025, it was reported that during the management meeting on 1st March 2024, Mr Chan Lik Hoong pressed the management team and urged Mr Lew Wei Him and the Sports and Recreation department to come up with a competitive strategy to prevent Bullseye from winning. The management placed the Sports Day scores at a 100-50-20 scoring for the first, second and third place winners in the athletics events instead of the 10-5-3 placing for previous Sports Days. Additionally, skilled athletes were brought in to manage the other three houses, especially Slamdunk, which used to tail behind at last place in the past.

On 19th August 2024, it was discovered that the management purposely awarded each house a first place in the march, dance and banner, except for Bullseye, in order to prevent Bullseye from winning the Sports Day. Homerun was the marchpast winner, Touchdown the dance winner and Slamdunk the banner winner. The points of the judging events, when deducted, show Bullseye in first place, followed by Touchdown, Slamdunk, and Homerun. Mr Thomas lashed out at Mr Chan Lik Hoong for allegedly interfering with the results. The management was also reported to have planned to award all banner results in case Bullseye repeats the 2023 Sports Day result where it won 40 out of the 50 events available, and their intent was to block Bullseye from winning should it do well in the athletics events.

While Bullseye also won the Founder's Run, the management was also criticized for setting the high price of RM 150 for the run; the highest in its eight year history. The exponential price resulted in the extension of the Founder's Run registration twice, first to 24th March 2024 and then to 28th March. The registration opened on 26th February and was originally scheduled to end on 15th March. Speculation was constant that the management intended for the RM 150 to deter runners from joining, particularly from Bullseye.

The actions of the management initiated a fierce and emotionally charged response from Mr Thomas, who has called for Mr Chan Lik Hoong to be sacked and fired over the loss of Bullseye. Mr Thomas opined that Mr Chan should've ran on Sports Day in order to make Bullseye win the Sports Day.

2025 Sports Day

The 2025 Sports Day was the earliest Sports Day held in the history of Nobel International School. Pundits allege that Mr Chan Lik Hoong was the one who suggested the dates for the Sports Day and Founder's Run. It was also the Sports Day with the shortest preparation period. Mr Chan was alleged to have had decided the dates as he was known to be a man firm in academics.

Prior to the Sports Day, Mr Thomas had constantly called for Mr Chan to be sacked as he was the one who controlled the affairs of the Sports Day planning process, given Mr Chan's alleged stance of hating Bullseye due to its victories. Additionally, the Founder's Run was also separated from Sports Day, raising concerns of Bullseye's results without the Founder's Run alongside the shortened timeframe. Further measures such as the prohibition of props were alleged to have had contributed to Bullseye's loss, alongside the lack of skilled athletes in Bullseye. The increased security policy of Nobel further aggrevated the divide between Wei Yiang and the students.

During the 2025 Sports Day's Year 8 and 9 4X100m boys' race, the management purposely placed Bullseye and Slamdunk's athletes in the Sports Day, in which the athletes committed fouls by crossing lanes. This resulted in the disqualification of solely the athletes from Bullseye when in reality, both teams should have had been disqualified. Brandon Cheong, a Year 8 student from Bullseye, criticized the management team and suggested recognizing Bullseye's third place finish in the event. This would have had changed the results of the 2025 Sports Day in which Bullseye ended last in the event, behind Homerun, Touchdown, and Slamdunk, the champion house.

The 2025 Sports Day results are considered the worst Sports Day results for Bullseye in its history.

2025 Founder's Run

The 2025 Founder's Run is the first Founder's Run to take place after a Sports Day. It is also the first Founder's Run to not award points to the students in a physical contest, and the second Founder's Run overall to do so, following the 2021 Founder's Run.

The registration fee for the run was priced at RM 100, but however, it had the lowest registrations for Founder's Run. Originally planned with a virtual run, the virtual run was axed at the last minute alongside points which were also planned to be awarded. This drew criticism from Mr Thomas, who complained of Mr Chan Lik Hoong "shutting off the power".

2026 cancellation of Sports Day

On 10th December 2025, it was announced in the school calendar that no sports day would be planned for 2026. The Sports Day would be replaced with a school concert scheduled for 25th July 2026. Should the school concert take place, it will be the th school concert after the Retro Concert 2010 on 24th April 2010, the Alice in Wonderland Concert on 21st August 2010, the Show Choir 2013 on 12th September 2013, the 2013 Senior School Concert on 26th September 2013, the 10th Anniversary Concert on 17th and 18th July 2014, the Gen-N Dreaming Out Loud Concert on 19th August 2017, and the Beauty is the Beast Concert on 21st July 2018.

The decision to not hold the Sports Day was met with disappointment by the student community of Nobel International School. Instead, a Telematch competition would be held for students as a replacement for the Sports Day. Wei Yiang said that the decision would potentially leave Bullseye a loss of a third potential victory year after the 2024 and 2025 Sports Days.
