SPORTS DAY 2023
Date: 31 March 2023
Venue: Panasonic Stadium, Shah Alam

Prelude

In the lead up to opening ceremony, students will be preparing and be on standby for the various events. Those who are not participating will be sitting in the stands as spectators. There will also be final rehearsals for the main event.

During this time, for our team, the team members will station all flags, equipment and other necessary props on the site ready to be moved. All the equipment must be kept in a manner so that it cannot be seen or damaged. 

Introduction of Management Team Members

The beginning of the opening ceremony will be the welcoming of the members of the Management Team, namely the Founding Director of Nobel International School, Ms Clarine Chun, the Executive Director, Mr Tan Seng Kee, the Senior Principal, Ms Chia Bee Yong, the Junior/Senior School Principal, Ms Praveen Kaur, the Deputy Principal of the Junior/Senior School, Mr Nigel, the Management Advisor, Mr Chan Lik Hoong, and VIP members of the FunGates Superflow Foundation.

During the welcoming parade, the management team will walk to the centre of the stadium. As they walk, our team members will hold up hibiscus flowers that contain the various banner designs of the previous Sports Days that were designed by me, which are the 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 Sports Days. 

Torch Relay

The torch relay will then begin as each house captain will make a lap of the track with the torch before passing it to Mr Tan Seng Kee, the Director. He will then ignite the cauldron to officially open Sports Day 2023. 

After the Opening Declaration by the Director, a contraption with the Bullseye flags and balloon will be raised up into the sky to signify the opening of the games. 

Official Proceedings of the Opening Ceremony

The marchers will then march onto the stadium field. The moment the Bullseye team marches past, we will cheer for Bullseye and scream loudly. Once the marchers reach the stadium field and the national anthem is played, everyone will sing the anthem. There will be an option to do 21-gun salutes. This can be replaced by bursting balloons to create the sound of the cannon fire. Once the national anthem has been finished, the Sports Pledge will be held and a dance performed by the four houses before the marchers march out. Then, each house will do an individual dance before the athletics competition

End of Sports Day 2022 and Closing Ceremony

Once all the competitions are finished, athletes gather on the field to mark the closing ceremony. The awards will be presented to athletes who have won their competitions, and then the announcement of the winners for march, dance and banner. This is then followed by the announcement of the Sports Boy and Sports Girl, and the declaration of the winner of the championship. Should Bullseye win the champion house and subsequently Sports Day 2023, we will perform a flypast using the airborne contraption and also perform a groundbreaking ceremony with a ceremonial stone at the groundbreaking written with Chinese characters for "foundation stone".

Alternate Plan: Each Bullseye athlete who wins the competition on Sports Day will receive a hibiscus flower as a gift regardless of 1st, 2nd or 3rd.
